This past Saturday was the NICU reunion. We went to go visit all of the people who we thought we would never forget. It turns out that we forgot almost all the names, and about half of the faces. The reunion was for any kid who has ever stayed there which meant there were some toddlers at the reunion. That means the DJ was playing nursery rhymes and kid songs. If going to kids parties means 3 hours of Jimmy Cracked Corn and Itsy Bitsy Spider, then we will have very few parties until I'm old enough to dislike the rap he'll listen to in 10 years.
This is the doctor who saved my son's life. We got a little upset with her at the end, but a lot of that was the emotion of the time. I would have spent evey penny I had and then some to see this picture 12 months ago. Thanks Doc.
One of the advantages of living in Florida is that every 4 years, people ask for your vote. Many of the people reading this blog live in states where people don't ask for your vote. I refer to them as 'lesser states'. In fact the republican party has said that those of you in NY are not in real america but rather some fake version I suppose. Anyway, this was a rally for the democratic candidate Barack Obama. You can see him clearly just a quarter mile beyond that tree. The park had a capacity of 10,000 people, but about double that showed up. We were able to get close enough to hear the loudspeakers. The campaign estimated 20,000 showed up, but they didn't mention that the rally was held 2 blocks from a basketball arena that would have allowed everyone to actually see him. I can't complain too much because it was free, but I didn't get any closer than seeing the road his bus drove on. I just thought it was important to bring my kid to see the candidate. He was so excited he wet his pants.

Awww! I had money on him walking before he learned to crawl! Kidding :)
But maybe a day or so after I read the last one, I saw some Discovery channel kind of show about how babies learn and develop and what not- point is, they showed a number of babies who were mobile, but not exactly crawling...one little girl did the worm to get from 'A' to 'B' and a little boy did a butt-hop to get everywhere he needed to be- adorable! (Jordan's cuter though :)
But what about the standing? Now that he's figured out how to get around on his own, has he lost interest, or is he still pulling himself up to his feet?
Just 'shopping' for a new desktop- Baby J, Baby J! Man, he is so hardcore. The look on his face- That boy is so unimpressed with people, it's funny. You'd never know he's the same happy boy in the first picture...well, you know- if they weren't pictures of the same boy...but you get me
Jordan is crawling!! Woohoo!!! What a major milestone!!! With Michael, I just didn't think that day was ever going to be there, but it came and now he is cruising and getting ready to walk. He is doing things at his own pace, but at least he is doing it!!
NICU reunions are so nice. NICU nurses don't really get to see the progress of many babies once they leave the hospital. If I were a NICU nurse, I would be looking forward to a reunion and see the result of the dedication and hard work that they perform on a daily basis. I have so much respect for NICU nurses!! Most of them at least :)
I love that Jordan is crawling, but, dang, can you get him to vote in a couple of weeks, too? We're also in one of those states where it matters (though, happily, right now, it's looking like it matters in a lot of states where it doesn't usually matter---woo hoo!). Anyway, it looks like Jordan likes the idea of having a smart, honest president, so I say, get him walking quickly and then register him to vote!
