Jordan is finally done with the apnea monitor! Yesterday was the last day for the monitor after seven and a half months. I think in the last 2 months it has only gone off for loose leads. Even before that it was almost entirely false alarms. Either way, we are done with it now. We are finally done with all of his NICU equipment!
Jordan is starting to become a big boy, so we gave him something that big boys have. Jordan now has an 8pm bedtime. It has been very easy. He really doesn’t nap much during the day if you keep him busy so he is always tired at night. At night we just make sure he is fed and changed, give him a pacifier, and read him a story. After we put him in the crib he’s asleep in 5 minutes. I am going to miss this in 12 months when he’s a toddler.
Finally, we learned what the grandparents want to be called. This is weird for me. My parents are now grandparents with grandparents nicknames. Parents aren’t supposed to be grandparents. I’m 30 years old and my grandma is still Nana. Anyway, my parents are now NA-mah, and Granddad. My in-laws are MEE-mah and Pop Pop. They’ll always be ‘mom’ and ‘creepy old dude’ to me.

Here I am, happily minding my own business, reading the blog and what-not when you decide to drop the big 3-0.
Normally, this isn't a problem, but dude you should know better. See it's like this: If you're 30, that means I'm...getting OLD! :)
But back to Jordan...is he watching TV yet? 8pm bedtime is some big boy stuff, but he's waiting for TV!

Jordan doesn't look like a preemie and of what I read, I don't think he acts like one either. He is doing amazingly well. You both should be so proud!!!
Here are some tips for flying:
* take a backpack for your stuff and a big bag for his
* take at least 2 extra changes of cloths and I put into a big plastic bag so if something got soiled I had where to wrap it.
* Also bring an extra outfit for yourself in case he spits up on you.
* Dress him in an easy fit outfit like pajamas
* bottle feed during take off and landing (I brought the ready made bottles; you only have to put a nipple on them; and they don’t hassle you at security); this is to prevent his ears from popping. Or you can use a pacifier (bring an extra pacifier if you use these)
* Put liquid formulas, diaper rash crème, hand sanitizers etc. in a clear zip loc bag for security reasons.
* I brought disinfectant wipes and cleaned the chairs, arm handles and tables before take off
* I bought a personalize ionizer that cleans the air around you (I bought it for about $30 on Amazon)
* bring lots of bibs and burp cloths
* have wipes handy a lot of them, I threw in an entire soft container
* have a big changing pad b/c plane changing table is a little gross
* bring some sort of sling or wrap to walk him in the isle if need be
* bring Tylenol, aspirator, saline, thermometer on the plane
* save some toys or get some new ones he does not know and bring them with you
* Try to find out if you have an empty seat available next to you. If you do, you can use your car seat. He can be in his car seat during take off and landing.
* If you don’t have a seat next to you, you can bring your stroller, car seat etc. up till the gate. There you will get it tagged and you can walk it up to the plane. They take it from there and that is where it will be at arrival.
* Try to board early (most airlines allow families to board first). I found it easier to have some things handy in a smaller bag under the seat in front of me: enough diapers, wipes, changing pad, bibs, pacifier, formula, nipple, toys) so that it was easily accessible during flight.
* If you have a layover, bring a blanket so that he can play on the floor and roll around a little, to give him some movement.

He isn't allowed to watch TV yet. Of course that means he only gets to watch TV when he goes to his grandparents houses.
Good Jesus! That's about 6lbs of "equipment" for each pound of baby! I tell ya, you just don't think of certain things as a non-parent :) (btw, Mom, just in case you happen to be reading through, have I said "Thank You" recently? :)
Oops, meant to ask: Has he gotten any better with the vomiting?
The doctor prescribed some Zantac for what he thought was reflux. There is still vomiting daily, but not with every feeding anymore. Things are definitely improving.
